This 80 year-old man looks like a character that stepped straight out of a Lord of the Rings movie.
Although old age comes with its own pleasures, it certainly has a big downside to it. Not being able to do most of the things you were able to do without thinking twice when you were young is one of the sad truths about old age, but on the other hand, you have your grandchildren and your retirement to look forward to.
However, this is not the case of this 80-year-old Iranian man that was found by reporters living in the desert, all alone. His skin is scaly, you can barely see his eyes and he smells to high heaven. The reason for this is simple, he doesn’t have a skin disease or terrible condition: he has just refused to take a bath for sixty years.
This Iranian man, Amoo Hadji, hasn’t bathed in over 60 years.
It’s hard to tell what you’re looking at, but those are human hands.
The (allegedly) 80 year-old leads a fairly primitive life, with his most prized possession being a steel pipe… that he smokes animal dung with.
He blends in seamlessly with his surroundings.
He lives in the village of Dezhgah (city of Farashband in Fars province of Iran).
You can tell he lives a dirty, but simple, life.
Although he does take chain smoking to the next level.
Not showering for over 60 years is his choice because he believes that not bathing leads to better well-being.
Everyone’s different and we hate to judge, but it’s extremely difficult to understand why Amoo lives the life he does. However, I do now understand why my mom was always so relentless about me scrubbing behind my ears.
